Prom Tickets
The NHS Prom Fundraiser helps students purchase their prom ticket by selling Spring Catalog items. Students & parents can pick up the catalogs at the NHS Library during the day. All money and orders are due Wednesday, Feb. 8th. Prom tickets are on sale at the library for $50 each until Friday, Feb. 17th. After Feb. 17th ticket prices will go up. New State Assessment System Debuts This Semester
The state's new student testing program goes live this semester. The new program is called the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness or STAAR. It replaces the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). STAAR will be given to students in grades 3-8 and to students taking high school level courses in the four core subject areas of English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Two Late Afternoon Bus Routes Added to Schedule
First Student Transportation has begun running two late afternoon bus routes from Navasota High School to help accommodate students who leave school later than 3:45. The buses will run Monday through Thursday only and leave campus each day at 5 p.m. Click the headline to find a listing of the stops associated with each new route. |

Semester Exam Schedule
All high school students will be taking semester exams beginning on Wednesday, January 11th and ending on Friday, January 13th. The schedule can be found by clicking on "Semester Exam Schedule." |

Dual Credit Course Informational Meeting
High school sophomores and juniors interested in taking Blinn College English through the high school’s dual credit program must attend an informational meeting Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. in the high school library with a parent. Students will receive information regarding the THEA and ACCUPLACER tests and costs of the course. The professor will also be in attendance to discuss class requirements. Students MUST attend with a parent or they will not be admitted to the class. Attending the meeting, however, does not commit students to the course. |

NHS Senior Accepted to Harvard University
Senior Ramon Galvan has learned a great deal from his two-year process to figure out where he will go and what he will do when his time at Navasota High School is finished. While that process is not yet complete, the big picture is starting to come into focus. Galvan was both happy and relieved to find out last week that he has been accepted to Harvard University.
